Sports Turfing

In 2008 Appleyard Smith Morgan Limited were asked to remove buried roots from a previously cleared hedge row, that bisected a large section of the College playing field, and re-turf the affected area.

This was undertaken with clearance of the roots from site and importation of   100 tons of new topsoil to the area. This was then levelled, returfed and rolled.

Done during a particularly (unexpected) hot spell during the summer, consequently water bowsers where required onsite during the turfing and for two weeks afterwards to ensure the new grass thrived.

We are pleased to say that the newly turfed area has now afforded Ravendale College to provide two new football pitches for their students.
